Combined Graduate Level Examination

The Staff Selection Commission conducts The Combined Graduate Level Examination every year. Posts included in the Scheme of the Examination are divided into two Groups-A & B :

  • Last date to apply for part-i is 28th May
  • Warning: READ The notification thoroughly before applying. Otherwise you’ll face many problems during tier-2 and interview stage e.g. you’re not eligible for xyz post because of education /medical and so on.
  • New post added: Sub inspector in National investigation agency (NIA) Group “B”
  • Education: Candidate must have completed their education on or before 1st August 2015.
  • Age: to be counted on 1st August of the given year. (refer to table given on page1, for minimum age limit for each post and rule 5(A) on page 5.
  • Exam Dates: Tier 1 Tentative dates: 9th  and 16th August
  • Total vacancies: yet to announced
  • Age relaxation: refer to Rule.5(C) on page5

Assistant (CSS):GROUP: B -  A Central Civil post carrying the following grade pay :-

Rs.5400, Rs.4800, Rs.4600 and Rs.4200 in the scale of pay of Rs 9300 – 34800 in the Pay Band-2

  • Assistant in other Central Govt. Ministries/Departments/CVC etc
  • Inspector of Posts
  • Inspector, Central Excise/Preventive Officer/Examiner
  • Sub Inspectors
  • Inspector of Income Tax
  • Assistant Enforcement Officer
  • Divisional Accountant
  • Statistical Investigator Gr.II

GROUP: C -  A Central Civil post carrying the following grade pay :-

Rs.2800, Rs.2400, Rs.2000, Rs.1900 and Rs.1800 in the scale of pay of Rs.5200-20200 in the Pay Band-1

    • Junior Accountant/ Accountant
  • UDC
  • Tax Assistant
  • Compiler

QUALIFICATION

 (i) Compiler : Bachelors Degree with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject from any recognized University.


(ii) Statistical Investigator Grade – II : Bachelors Degree with Statistics as one of the main subjects.

OR
Bachelors Degree with Mathematics (with Statistics as a papers studied in one year/two years/all three year as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.
OR
Bachelors Degree with Economics (with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.
OR
Bachelors Degree with Commerce (with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.


(iii) All other Posts: Bachelors Degree (Graduation Degree) from a recognized University or equivalent.

 

The Examination will be conducted in Three Tiers:

Tier I – Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

Tier II – Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

Tier III –English written exam

NOTE: There will be negative marking of 1/4th  marks for each wrong answer in Tier I and Tier II Examination.
